Vestas has been awarded a contract to deliver 50MW of turbines for a wind project in Uruguay.
The Danish company will be responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of 15 blades with a capacity of 3.3MW each.
The Florida II project is an extension of Florida I and is expected to have a capacity of 142MW.
The delivery of the wind turbines are scheduled for the first quarter of 2016.
The electricity generated will be purchased by the Administración Nacional de Usinas y Trasmisiones Eléctricas (UTE), Uruguay’s state-owned grid operator.
The project is developed by Akuo Energy and Eurus Energy America.
