ABB wins two orders for EU waste-to-energy plants

ABB has won orders for two waste-to-energy plants in Europe.

It will supply a complete electrical and control solution for the new Severnside Energy Recovery Centre in England and another plant in Poznan in Poland.

The UK facility  in London is expected to generate 37MW of electricity by processing 400,000 metric tons of solid waste a year. The capacity is enough to power 50,000 UK homes.

The Polish plantwill have a capacity of 18MW derived  from 210,000 metric tons of waste.

Both plants are expected to be opened by 2016, the company states.
