ScottishPower takes full control of offshore wind farm

ScottishPower takes full control of offshore wind farm

Vattenfall has sold half its share of an offshore wind project to ScottishPower Renewables.

The Swedish power giant  is selling its 50% share of the wind project to ScottishPower Renewables so it can prioritise the rest of its European wind portfolio.

The sale comes despite news Vattenfall is one of the 27 winners of government's renewables CfD scheme.

Both companies are working together to develop wind energy capacity off the coast of East Anglia, as part of the Crown Estate’s Round Three offshore wind programme.

Gunnar Groebler, Head of BU Renewables at Vattenfall said: “We still see a promising future for the rest of the East Anglia Development Zone – and UK offshore wind generally - and we will continue to work with ScottishPower Renewables to deliver the remaining five projects."

Scottish Power Renewable will take sole responsibility for the project, once the purchase is finalised.
