IKEA has announced plans to install a solar power system at its new store in Missouri, US.
The 1.28MW system, which it claims will be the largest rooftop project in the state, will include more than 4,000 panels, producing around 1.7 million kWh of electricity every year.
That will help reduce carbon emissions equivalent to taking more than 250 cars off the road every year.
The installation will be the Swedish retailer’s 42nd solar project in the US.
The company plans to invest $1.8 billion (£1.2bn) in renewable energy projects by the end of the year.
