Flat prices despite failed Russia-Ukraine energy talks

Prices on the UK power and electricity Markets looked flat this morning despite energy talks failing between Russia and Ukraine over an unpaid gas bill, according to the daily market report from npower.

More talks were scheduled so this may have taken the sting out of the news, suggested the report.

Elsewhere on the UK energy market, liquefied natural gas exports from the UK look likely to rise next month.

Gemma Perks, Client Portfolio Manager on npower’s Optimisation Desk said: “As we move into November, analysts are expecting LNG sendout to pick up to 20 million cubic meters.”

She added: “This is just on the back of Asian spot prices for November currently trading below October.”
