Carbon reporting creeps up in FTSE 100

More major companies in the FTSE 100 are publishing their carbon emissions in their official annual reports.

Research found 85 companies included key information about their carbon footprint in 2014, up nearly a third compared to 2013, when 56 did so.

Data such as the carbon intensity ratio was included, plus details of the methodology used to calculate footprint.

Carbon Clear which ran the report - as part of its yearly carbon reporting league table - assessed this information meant they were compliant with new mandatory greenhouse gas reporting legislation.

This doesn’t necessarily mean the 15 remaining companies without the information were not compliant. They just may not need to do it as HQ is outside of UK, a Carbon Clear spokesperson told ELN.
