Coca-Cola Enterprises and Tesco have joined forces to encourage people in Britain to recycle more in an effort to reduce the amount of rubbish they send to landfill.
They have launched an online campaign, inviting Tesco customers to ‘pledge, play and recycle’ in return for a 50 pence voucher or Tesco Clubcard loyalty points.
The ‘Recycling is the Answer’ campaign website also provides consumers guidance on what can and cannot be recycled.
It follows a similar initiative last year, which attracted around 37,000 recycling pledges, the drinks manufacturing giant said. It claims more than two thirds of consumers who rarely or never recycling said they are now “always or mostly” doing so.
Nick Brown, Associate Director of Recycling for Coca-Cola Enterprises said: “The campaign is the result of our shared dedication with Tesco to reduce our carbon footprint and help customers do the same in their homes."
Communities Secretary Eric Pickles recently proposed to reward households who recycle with shopping vouchers.
