EDF’s UK renewable arm has commissioned two new wind farms in the country totalling 11.3MW.
The M1 wind farm, located near Northampton, has a capacity of 7.2MW and features nine turbines.
The Burnfoot North project in Scotland includes two turbines totalling 4.1MW and is an extension of the Burnfoot Hill facility, which has a 26.7MW capacity.
The two new wind farms are expected to generate enough electricity to power around 7,000 homes.
The news comes after EDF Energy said four of its nuclear reactors in the UK that were shut down may not be back online until the end of the year.
