Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has reportedly signed a series of agreements on nuclear energy in Argentina.
They include Russian state atomic company Rosatom helping build new nuclear units in the country.
Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak has been reported as saying: “Rosatom is actively working here and has already handed over its technical and commercial offer to our (Argentine) colleagues.”
The news follows Mr Putin’s meeting with Argentina’s President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner over the weekend.
Both leaders said the nuclear projects would be for peaceful purposes.
Last month Rosatom also signed an agreement to build a public information centre for nuclear energy in Belarus.
