The renewable arm of EDF Energy has placed a 450MW wind order with Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas.
The contract is for the 150MW Slate Creek wind farm in Kansas and the 300MW Roosevelt project in New Mexico in the US.
Both projects include three-year Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service agreements. AOM 5000 is an energy-based availability guarantee which ensures the turbines are operational when the wind is blowing.
Ryan Pfaff, Executive Vice President of EDF Renewable Energy said: “Both the projects have long-term power purchase agreements in place with creditworthy counterparties and we look forward to creating new American jobs.”
