UK businesses gear up for new EV scheme

UK businesses gear up for new EV scheme

A new initiative is set to show companies how introducing electric vehicles (EVs) in their businesses can help them save money.

The Energy Saving Trust’s 'Plugged-in Fleets' scheme, funded by Transport for London (TfL) and the Department for Transport (DfT), selected 20 British companies who will be shown how EVs could benefit their organisations.

Caroline Watson from the Energy Saving Trust said: “Our recent Plugged-in Fleets report has shown that organisations can save money now when selectively introducing electric vehicles within their fleets.”

The companies selected for the scheme include Boots UK, Morrisons, London Fire Brigade, Network Rail, York City Council and the University of Cumbria.

With the number of electric vehicles increasing in the market, the scheme is expected to make it easier for fleet managers to pick the right vehicles for their businesses.
