Robert Leask - Senior Porfolio Manager Utilities - Procurement Scotland

Robert (pictured) joined Scottish Procurement in 2007, assuming responsibility for the Utilities portfolio incorporating electricity, natural gas, water, liquid fuels, biomass and facility management contracts. To date greater than 99% of the Scottish Public Sector are collaborating on contracts for electricity, natural gas and water resulting in annual savings of £25 million. Prior to joining the Scottish Government Robert had a period running his own consultancy business specialising in the  procurement and financial management of capital projects .

Prior to setting up his own business Robert was Head of Procurement and Supply Chain for an international chemical business, where he set up the Procurement and Supply Chain function and was accountable for sourcing materials from low cost economies in China and India. Robert has held a variety of senior Procurement positions in industry over a period of 19 years and has direct experience of sourcing all major categories of spend including IT, travel, indirects, construction and  utilities.

Rob Crusher - Head of Energy - Scottish Water

In 2005 Rob joined Scottish Water to head Energy Management and in 2007 added Facilities Management to his portfolio. Currently, he manages all aspects of Scottish Water’s energy portfolio, one of the largest in Scotland at 500GWh/annum.  He introduced flexible energy procurement strategy resulting in significant savings and most recently focused on leading Scottish Water’s renewable development ambitions, seeking to maximise potential for generation of renewable energy from within the asset base.  He is also eveloping opportunities in small-scale hydro, wind, biomass and solar PV.

He began his career in 1986 advising industry on the efficient use of fuel.  Developed Combined Heat and Power projects and advised on emission abatement technologies in power generation plant. Between 1994 and 2000, worked with two organisations developing Contract Energy Management projects, Combined Heat & Power projects, and smaller projects installing energy-efficient technologies in industrial and public-sector buildings. In 2000 began a short hiatus from the energy industry, initially as European Business Development Director for a logistics company and then as Sales Director for a US environmental products manufacturer. In 2003, returned to the energy industry leading the Scottish development of Energy & Environmental consultancy business, advising clients in the field of Renewable Energy and Carbon Management.

He is a Non-Executive Director of South Ayrshire Energy Agency,and Industrial Advisory board member of Heriot Watt University Masters in Energy.

Mark Dickinson - CEO - M&C Energy Group

Mark has been involved with the energy markets for the last 18 years having been fortunate to work at each stage of the value chain and across the global markets. A recognised pioneer of risk management processes for consumers of energy, Mark completed his Master in Finance at the London Business School before founding Encore, an international energy risk management company that supported leading companies with the management of over €3bn of commodity risk annually.

Mark joined M&C when Encore was acquired by the Group in 2010 and was appointed CEO of M&C Energy Group in 2011. As CEO, Mark leads the business ensuring the interests of shareholders, clients and employees are optimised whilst delivering the group strategy to consolidating the energy advisory market and deliver the first truly global energy advisory and support services business which now manages in excess of €9bn.
