Low carbon must win over consumers

Low carbon must win over consumers

Power firms and technology companies need to do more to convince consumers that going green can make monetary sense so they are encouraged to invest in future technologies such as smart meters. These were the words of Tony Ward from Ernst and Young.

Speaking at the New Energy Economy event the head of Power & Utilities said there was too much focus on supply and not on making consumers more efficient. He said: "We have to have a resolution to Government changes to low carbon. People are convinced it will cost too much."

The New Energy Economy event brought together voices from businesses looking to meet the UK's energy challenges through future technologies.
