Tottenham earn their spurs with 14% energy saving

North London football giants Tottenham Hotspur, has announced a major saving of 14% of their energy emissions, which equates to a reduction of more than 400 tonnes of carbon in a year.

Working in conjunction with the 10:10 scheme, which aims to help organisations cut their carbon emissions by 10% each year, the Champions league hopefuls have improved on their reductions from the year before. The club say the cuts in emissions have been made by being conscious of what they purchase, how they dispose of waste, how they travel and what sort of energy they use.

The club replaced 136 lights with energy-efficient models, a six-figure investment that has made them around 25% cheaper to run, the club claim. The club also offer tips in their match day programmes to help fans improve their impact- with a growing number travelling to games by public transport rather than in their own cars.
