Merry Christmas to all our readers!

I'd like to take this chance to say thanks to all of you for reading and watching ELN over the past year. What a year 2011 has been in terms of energy and in terms of our growth. Next week we'll bring you a review of the year and you'll see just how much has happened from the Arab Spring, Fukushima, the Electricity Market Reform to the row over Feed in Tariffs just to mention a few.

Through it all we've been there and brought you sharp, concise journalism. We've had a lot of major names on ELN this year, here's just a selection; all three Energy Ministers, Meg Hillier, Caroline Flint, Zac Goldsmith, Anne Robinson, Volker Beckers, Vincent de Rivaz, Lord Lawson, Lord Digby Jones, Jonathan Porritt, Boris Johnson, Fatih Birol, Mike Weightman, Tim Yeo, Damon Hill, Maria McCaffery and Quentin Wilson to name a few.

We've been all over the UK and brought you films from Ireland, Germany, Holland and Switzerland. We've spoken to all sectors of the energy world and listened to all voices and we plan to do plenty more in 2012.

Most significantly this summer we moved over to this new website which I hope you are enjoying and interacting with, we welcome your comments and emails. Our ethos at ELN is to bring you the news that you want to see and the news you didn't know you needed! We are getting bigger and better in 2012 but more than anything we need you to come with us, so tell us what you want to read and watch.

We're taking a short break but we'll be back on Wednesday 28th December until then from the entire team at ELN have a great Xmas!
