E.ON make gas discovery

E.ON has discovered gas on the Tolmount prospect, located in the UK Southern North Sea to the west of the Babbage gas field. The company found a gas column in excess of 200 feet.

Felix Lerch, Managing Director of E.ON E&P in the UK said the discovery was another success for the company's exploration arm: "The Tolmount well results are very encouraging and will be incorporated into ongoing studies to assess the optimum development strategy for this discovery."

E.ON started its E&P activities in 2003 and has developed into a strong and growing business. In 2010, E.ON E&P produced 8.6 billion cubic metres of oil and gas.
