96% of Brits worried about rising energy bills

Rising energy bills are a worry to 96% of Brits, claims a new survey.

Nearly three quarters also admit to using more energy than they need in the home.

The research conducted with 1,000 people flagged up a number of energy wasting habits like keeping appliances turned on or in standby, leaving a laptop on, or letting the TV play while no one is watching.

Almost everyone polled was keen to try and save energy (97%), citing money saving as a key motivation.

Large energy projects like solar installations were snubbed by those polled, only 6% saying they had solar panels. Instead, most favoured smaller efficiency measures, like efficient light bulbs (81%) or using the heating less (68%).

The study was conducted by eco-technology company Navetas.
