KPMG set up energy advisory board

KPMG professional services have set up an advisory Energy & Natural Resources board to support CEOs in facing the challenges the energy industry faces. The board will be lead by Nick Horler, former CEO of Scottish Power.

The company aim to harness skills across the board for emerging sectors in utilities and renewables. Emma Murray, a spokesperson for KPMG, said of the board: "We hope it will become recognized as a major forum in the UK and then eventually internationally."

Mr Horler has previously helped create the Energy Retail Association and has also held positions at E.On and PowerGen.

Michiel Soeting, global ENR leader, KPMG, said:
"We are delighted to have Nick on board at a time when the utility sector is facing a number of challenges, particularly around required capital investments, reduction of emissions, wholesale prices and consumer behavioural changes."
