Alstom sign major power plant deal

Alstom, who specialise in power generation and rail infrastructure, have agreed to build two fossil fuel power plants in Estonia for Narva Elektrijaamad AS, a subsidiary of Estonia's state owned utility Eesti Energia.

Under the terms of the deal Alstom will design, manufacture and install a 300 MW plant for €540 million with the option for a second 300MW plant to be built within 18 months for €410 million.

Patrick Kron, Chairman and CEO of Alstom said: "This contract illustrates Eesti Energia's sustained trust and confidence in Alstom's technology and expertise in project execution."
