Lighting equipment firm Chalmor has helped Bedford Borough Council reduce electrical consumption and costs by over 60%.
The council tasked Chalmor with replacing the lighting at the Bedford International Athletics Stadium as part of a borough-wide attempt to reduce energy consumption. The council set itself a target of reducing emissions by 40% by 2015. Chalmor replaced existing lighting with Chalmor's Brilliance T5 fittings, which will now provide the council with £8,000 worth of savings per year.
Charlotte Conroy, the Stadium Manager at the Bedford International Athletics Stadium said: "We have also had very positive feedback about the improved lighting quality from the users."
