Teccura to tap into lost water revenues

A Berkshire firm specialising in utility revenue analysis and recovery has signed a deal with an Australian water company.

Teccura will help Yarra Valley Water identify any commercial sites consuming more water than they are paying for. This will allow the utility firm to identify any unbilled revenue across all of its business customers.

Yarra Valley Water is the largest of Melbourne's three retail water utilities, providing supply and sewerage services to over 1.6m people and over 50,000 businesses in the northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Teccura will identify, quantify and recover revenue that would previously have gone unaccounted for.

For Teccura, which already works with many of the UK's biggest utility companies such as Anglian Water, Scottish & Southern Energy and Thames Water, the Yarra Valley deal marks its first Australian customer and is also a major step in cementing an international presence.

Chief executive Kevin Kerrigan said: "Having developed our techniques and capability with the majority of the UK's leading utilities, this agreement represents a substantial expansion of our global capabilities and client base.

"This agreement is a comprehensive endorsement of our expertise and technology and will enable us to demonstrate an unmatched international capability."

Last month Yorkshire Water signed a multi-year agreement with Teccura to recover previously unidentified or unbilled revenue.
