Environmental awards open for nominations

The PEA awards will launch to celebrate engaging initiatives in response to sustainability challenges and are open to individuals and groups who have made a difference in their communtities. The awards will be hosted on the 2nd of March of next year and aim to acknowledge inspirational excellence in ten categories:

Arts & Music, Best Energy Saving Idea, Best Earth Saving Idea, Business Person of the Year Community Award, Campaigner of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Public Sector Award, Sustainability in Sport, and Responsible Travel.

The awards are being held by the publishers of the National Geographic Green in conjunction with Evergreen Events and are sponsored by World Energy Research, Isklar, Kyocera and Aquados Simply.

National Geographic Green's Editor and Chair of the judging panel, Tony Juniper said: "We probably all know someone who fits into one of these categories, so please nominate them to let them know that we do appreciate everything they do for our society."

Nominations close on Friday, December 31.
