Half of British residents worried about fuel bills

A survey has revealed that half of UK residents are worried about their heating bill.

Yet the report from consumer watchdog Which? also shows that of those people, only one in three plans to switch energy supplier to ease their fears about high utility costs.

Instead, seven in 10 people will simply put on extra clothes while indoors, half will block drafts under doors and windows, and four in 10 will have a warm drink or meal.

And one in five will spend less on Christmas presents, 17% plan to cut back on leisure activities and 13% will even dip into their own or their children's savings to stay warm this winter.
