The colour purple for turbines?

Scientists say wind turbines should be painted purple to protect flying wildlife around them.

Researchers from Loughborough University found that the usual white and grey of turbines were the most attractive colours to insects. In turn, birds and bats that feed on those insects follow them... into the blades of the turbines.

The colour least attractive to insects is, the researchers say, purple.
