Explosion proof cameras for oil rigs

The Centurion XPG is a 10 mega pixel digital camera encased in aluminium, with an armoured glass viewfinder and is designed to withstand explosions and blasts according to its manufacturers CorDEX Instruments. They are so confident of its benefits for the offshore oil and gas industry that they are launching the camera in Aberdeen the home of the UK oil rig industry.

CorDEX has already supplied similar cameras to the mining and chemical industries and believes the Centurion cameras will work perfectly on oil rigs where they can be used to document safety or hazardous events. They plan to tailor more cameras specifically for oil workers.
