Tesla takes orders for glass solar roof tiles

Tesla is now accepting orders for its glass solar roof tiles.

CEO Elon Musk made the announcement on Twitter yesterday.

The energy generated by the tiles would be stored in its home battery ‘Powerwall’.

Mr Musk said the solar tiles would cost less than a normal one with PV panels and they could be manufactured in a range of different styles.

He added in another Tweet: “Solar roof can be ordered for almost any country. Deployment this year in the US and overseas next year.”
